Punakha Valley is the warmest of the Six Senses Bhutan destinations. At an elevation of 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) and blessed with temperate climate, Punakha valley is infact market garden of the country. Punakha has an interesting history and served as Bhutan’s capital for a period 300 years until Thimphu declared as official capital in 1950s. It is site of one of Bhutan’s most important Dzongs, the 17th century magnificent Punakha Dzong. Six Senses Punakha is situated at a short drive of about 15-minutes north of this most impressive Dzong.
Referred to as The Flying Farmhouse amidst the rice fields, this beautiful lodge has a rustic feel and is blessed with a warmer climate.
