Located below famous Jakar Dzong with commanding view of Choekor valley of Bumthang, Jakar Village Lodge (JVL) was established in 1997 by Dasho Gasey Lhendup. The lodge is just a short distance from main Chamkhar town and about five minutes walk from Jakar Dzong. Since its inception, it has won several accolades and is definitely considered one of the most charming establishment in this region.

The lodge features six deluxe and eight standard blue pine panelled rooms, beautifully painted in traditional style and comfortably and tastefully furnished. All rooms are efficiently heated and have high quality insulation. The bathrooms and toilets are equipped with latest fittings, including jet showers and bath tubs.

The lodge serves range of delicious cuisines ranging from local delicacies to continental dishes. Its bar also has interesting collection of local and imported drinks.
